Idol Chatter. Amelia Finefrock, a senior at Lake High School, is among the folks going to Hollywood on American Idol. The North Canton resident auditioned in Pittsburgh and sang Duffy’s Syrup and Honey. Telecasts of the Hollywood round begin Feb. 9.
You can see video of Finefrock talking about Idol at www.americanidol.com/videos/season_11/road_to_hollywood/amelia_finefrock.
By the way, viewers may recall the Savannah, Ga., audition by Jessica Whitely of Cuyahoga Falls, which went so badly that even ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel made fun of it on the air; still, she vowed in Georgia to try again at the Texas auditions, which aired Thursday.
But Whitely told local Fox affiliate WJW (Channel
that, in spite of making it through several audition rounds in Texas, she did not get far enough to sing again for on-air judges. She and her twin sister, Chelsea (who also auditioned), did get to sing on Channel 8. You can see and hear her at http://www.fox8.com/news/wjw-jessica-whitely-american-idol-audition-folo-me-txt,0,5592819.story.
